Preserving Western New York’s Agricultural Heritage

8:30 a.m.–4:30 p.m. | BUS

According to the 2010 USDA agricultural census, every day a New York farm fails, putting the farm structures and agriculture landscape at risk. Especially endangered are farms in the rural Western New York counties, where unintended neglect and harsh winter weather topple several barns and other related structures each year. This tour of

a variety of farms in the region will showcase local barn types, detail the preservation efforts by farm owners, and explain the various funding sources used by and available to them. Registration limited to 50. Lunch provided.
